I was asked to do a barely there look for monolids, so here is one that might be worth a try. Makeup tends to show up better in person than in photographs, so I layered on more colors for it to show on these pictures and I didn’t blend the contour that much.
I normally wear zero makeup when I work out but I wore this look twice to the studio because I REALLY wanted my face to melt off and on to the mat so my trainers could freak out [/ sarcasm]. Thankfully, it held up well because of my awesome concealer and BB cream. Anyway, both times, I was complimented on this look with almost frightening enthusiasm. I guess I must look REALLY bad without makeup on -_-;
The goods
This palette (not the eyeliner bc it REALLY sucks)

This eyeliner

This is a really subtle soft brown eyeliner. I find it great for emphasizing your eyes while avoiding the harsh made-up look.
Not shown: mascara, lash curler and brushes
The Before (eye makeup only)
This is “before eye makeup” and not completely bare-faced. I have very uneven skin tone and lots of scarring that are more pronounced in photographs.

The Look
Emphasis for this look: I’ve extended the contouring shadow as far out as possible from the outer corner without going too far past the eye. Then, I blended the hell out of each color, adding more contouring shadow when necessary. This makes my eyes look deeper because the contour mimics shadow, thus giving the illusion of bigger eyes. Thus, my eyes are given more emphasis without the need for dramatic eyeliner. In fact, for this look, the eyeliner is barely visible. I couldn’t get it to show up on the camera at all.

Camera battery gave out at this point and I took these with my Droid2. Sorry, I couldn’t get a closeup of my eyes because the macro sucks on the Droid 2. The camera and photo editing tools pretty much suck overall on this phone. That’s why I like it. I come out blurry, mwahahaha.

Uh, I need to learn to close my mouth for these photos -_-;

I’d like to extend an apology to the person who requested this. She inquired about it in October and it’s taken me this long to follow up on my promise. I hope this isn’t too little nor too late, Kara! Thank you for being patient.
With love,
Al

This is a really natural and elegant look! I like how you blended the colors to achieve some depth to your eyes. Great job, Al!

that’s what i do too when i wear makeup, albeit in a far less polished manner than you. it’s the perfect everyday look for work etc.
i could never pull off the harsh liner look, and i feel self conscious wearing it to work.
love your technique.
