Love!!! Love this combo so much!!! It’s so perfect for celebrating the New Year and I’m definitely going to wear it again for Lunar New Year. In fact, the color combo does scream, “Happy Lunar New Year!” to me, but why wait until then?!

When I saw photos of Only Gold for Me, I was intrigued. Yet, did I need another chunky gold glitter topcoat? I’m tend to avoid getting items that are too similar to one another, whether it’s makeup or clothes.

When I received this as a gift and compared it to China Glaze Medallion, I realized I was wrong – quite stupidly wrong – to assume that the two were remotely similar. I didn’t do any comparison shots but Medallion is a brighter yellow gold with holographic sparkle and Only Gold for Me comprises the same overal gold tone in oversized glitter chunks as well as tiny flecks.
For this look, I did use the top coat over entire nails. Rather, I just dabbed on clusters of the glitter here and there so that most of the Peony would be glitter-free.

I’ve been dying to show this one to you, too, and I would have much sooner if I had been more diligent about blogging. It was one of the many ways Chyi spoiled me when I was in Copenhagen. She got me two Gosh nail polishes and two Gosh lip glosses. I’m a huge fan of Gosh now. I wish they were available here in the US.
My new year’s resolutions initially started out as the usual regurgitation of previous year’s resolutions. Blog more, lose weight, bla bla… Then, I got mad at myself because, well, I do this every year! Make goals – never keep them…
So, this time, I’ve decided to focus my resolutions towards fixing my quarter-life crisis. I don’t know if I’m ready to disclose all of them here in public because I consider them to be rather personal. However, I can tell you that
they’re about achieving something that would make my life seem more meaningful. I ask myself, “What do I want to accomplish next year that would make me feel like I am truly living? What would make me more proud of who I am? What would help me to acquire a title I would be happy to wear?”
After all, we don’t want to live simply for the sake of surviving. I sure as hell don’t want to just barely live. I want the Me of next year to be the Me that last year would envy.
So, here are some of the resolutions I formulated after much thought.
1. Churn out 40 episodes of Holy Crap by the end of 2011 (even if they all suck)
2. Use up all my scrap yarn to make hats and give those to the needy or sell them
3. Achieve a passive income of [undisclosed amount] per month
Sorry if this is starting to sound too much like motivational speaking. I have always hated listening to pep talk, myself, and I didn’t mean to throw this on you guys, lol. However, this is how I’m putting together my New Year’s Resolutions for my quarter-life crisis and I thought I’d share so I can be relevant like all the other bloggers, haha.
So, what are your resolutions? With or without resolutions, I sincerely hope all of you have a wonderful 2011.

I like that combination on your nails. I’m such a retard with glitter because I usually end up scratching myself or scratching off the glitter. A few questions, when you dab on the glitter, do you get uneven coats? Do you put on another layer of clear coat so that the entire nail is smooth?
Yea, I applied 1 or 2 coats of Seche Vite over the whole thing. It may not have been a good idea to do it this way because you can kind of see where the clear polish from Only Gold For Me overlaps with Seche Vite. I guess the two formulas refract light somewhat differently.

lol i kno what u mean by the resolution thing. i made one myself but…i really do find myself saying the SAME THINGS each year and never actually doing most of them. I probably end up accomplishing one or two things from my list each year AT BEST if I even accomplish ANY xDD hahhah
i only put my beauty resolutions on my blog cuz i agree with u, some of my other resolutions are too personal to be put up.

Quarter Life crisis…omg.
serious pain in the butt, well until I stopped comparing myself to other ppl, and the 'milestones' that are set. I figure as long as I am working hard toward my goals, then so be it, even if it takes a little longer than others. That was something that was hard for me to understand these past few years. Anyway…finally moving along, and feel better…
but we will see after my two years in my program are up

This is a beautiful combination! I work at Sephora now and I can’t tell you how hard it is too keep that stupid nailpolish in stock! We have people going on hold lists for it! That and the silver one! LOL My coworker bought it just because it was in stock to see what the fuss was all about!
Well seeing this, I think I know why everyone loves this darn polish so much!

And hunny I wish I got discounts from LV! But sadly, I don’t. I do however, get to see new products as soon as they arrive
