Did my American readers have a fun 4th of July?
What do you think of my new haircut? I actually had it cut last week but had to wait until this week to take pictures on account of some strange infection I’d had on my chin. I’ve never done bangs like this before. I used to hate cutting my hair this short, too, thanks to the traumas of mandatory haircuts in middle school in Korea.
I’m pretty excited about leaving for Copenhagen tomorrow! O, wow, is it really tomorrow? I can’t believe it!! Stay tuned for pictures

I just wanted to know what you think about the Asian part. I’m Chinese and I agree with the person about how Asian want to be that way. What is your take on it?
lurker: Hm. That’s a bit tough to answer in brief. I hope my answer makes sense and that you find it somewhat acceptable ^^;
I was actually interested in trying out circle lenses myself for a while. I just like the idea of having the option of dramatically changing my looks if I want to, just like with dyeing hair, wearing false lashes or wearing a fake tan. If it weren’t for the fact that they dry my eyes out horribly, I’d probably have a few pairs already.
I was especially intrigued when I saw how well Jen FrmHeadToToe wore them. She certainly doesn’t look like an anime character wearing them, but she does look quite ravishing with and without circle lenses. Nor is she trying to look anime or like some different ethnicity.
I don’t think it’s fair to assume that there is something wrong with a person for wanting to pursue a certain look. There are so many greater offenses that people have committed in the world and, in comparison, the sin of wearing circle lenses seems quite minute. True, I would frown upon a society for upholding rigid standards of beauty that require hyper-consumerism and infliction of self-harm by a large population of young women in order to live up to these standards. However, I cannot pass the same judgement on the individuals themselves for following that lifestyle, as long as they’re not inflicting harm upon others by it.
