I’ve been wanting to share more food cart photos with you guys but it had been such a chaotic past month that these pictures had to wait. Now that the weather has gotten warmer and we’ve discovered a little food cart area near our new home, you can expect even more food pr0n.
I went back to SW 10th and Alder to pick up a Samurai Bento yakisoba for the boyfriend. I was craving a falafel myself and decided to try out Ugarit Mediterranean Meals.

I'm not gonna lie. It was this sign that got me. I had to see if the guy looked just like that caricature.

Oh, he-ey! Well, whaddya know. This guy was pretty awesome. When he saw me pull out my G9, he was like, "You wanna take my picture?" and posed for me.

Shot of the menu. See anything that looks good?

My Super Falafel, as it was called on the menu. I have to appreciate a neatly wrapped falafel. I'm always dreading the mess that I always incur with eating wraps.

Hello, falafel. Prepare to be eaten.

Worth every penny of the five dollars and fifty cents. I can't wait to try the gyro, next time!
You get some pretty amazing breakfast options, too, from the food cart scene. I had read about the Big Egg, a breakfast sandwich cart, and thereafter could not get the place out of my mind. So, I headed towards North Mississippi, a fairly recently trendy venue with lots of great dining variety. There’s a pretty sizable food cart market known as Mississippi Marketplace, which is pretty much a big lot with lots of food carts and limited covered seating. I say limited because I waited a long-ass time to nab my little table. It was like being the worst musical chairs player ever.

Charming little area. There's even a street musician. Even if he sucked, you'd never know just by looking at the picture!

There were a handful of kids in the area. I did my best not to step on any of those runts or eat them. I did not want to spoil my appetite.

Waiting in line at the Big Egg. Thirty minute wait for my order?? That sort of put me off, but I had already worked up a craving for a breakfast sandwich and I knew I wouldn't be happy with anything else. So, I waited.

There's something quite appetizing about a big yellow food cart.

Shot of the menu. Everything sounds so good.

Watching these women so hard at work made me feel better about the wait. They were really busting their asses in there. Apparently, food cart people don't mind getting their pictures taken. It makes sense. I would imagine that photos on the internet, as well as online reviews and blogs, must have contributed to the success of the food cart scene.

Holy. Crap. Totally worth the wait. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you the Portlander. As described on their blog, it is " two big eggs any style (except poached),your choice of cheese (Tillamook White Cheddar,Fontina of Gorgonzola) with fresh chive and country dijon mustard on grilled Grand Central brioche – $5.00 Add your choice of meat (Hardwood smoked bacon, Black Forest ham )...$6.00" I went with the bacon.

This, alone, is reason enough for you to visit Portland. Tiffannyyyyy, come eat meeeee

I'll save this half for later... YEA, RIGHT. I ate the whole damn thing!

My god. Looking at these pictures makes me want to go back right this very minute. I can still taste the explosive combination of the bacon, egg, bread and cheese filling up my palate and blowing my mind. Yea, I don't care if I have to wait 40 minutes next time. I need my Big Egg fix.
