Last night was the first night spent at our new apartment. It’s a snug little place in a charming quiet neighborhood and we’re quite happy with it. The new manager seems like a very likable person, too. I love that she’s always wearing running shorts and gets everywhere by running or by bicycle. She consented to letting us paint the place and I’m pretty excited about doing that later on.
I’ve finally packed away the bedroom but I still have a lot of unpacking left to do. However, I don’t like keeping the blog neglected for so long. I find that stopping the creative flow for a prolonged time makes it harder to get back into it. So, here’s a very quick FOTD to share.
Spring is thick in the air. I wake up to birds chirping everywhere, fluffy blue clouds floating across an expanse of pure sky blue and all kinds of pink and white blossoms sprouting all over the place. It’s like Disney princess morning and I feel like I’m about to sinisterly offer some poor ashen girl an apple.

I thought it’d be a good time to test out my new Sweet Radiance Blush from Dao’s makeup line, Formula D. Rumors say that Dao is officially opening her mineral makeup shop real soon and I’m pretty excited! I’m a huge fan of her eyeshadows and finishing powder.

Here’s my “before” picture, in case anybody mistakenly thinks I’m a natural-born beauty queen, HAHA!! I can’t even bear to show you the full-face angle because there is a huge blood-red pimple sitting like a nuclear wart on the side of my nose and it’s driving me up the wall.
Don’t get me wrong, though. I don’t think I’m hideous or even ugly. I think I look good enough and there’s nothing that I want to change, except the acne scars. So, there is no need for you to reassure me about how I look. I also ask that you refrain from sharing acne tips, thank you. I’m posting the above picture because I want to show you just how much of a difference the right makeup application makes.
Sorry to ramble on. Here’s the “after”.

The steps for the eye makeup were very minimal. Brown eyeliner on top and bottom, both only on outer 3rds of lash lines. Copper shadow on outer corner and nude shadow over the rest, blended the heck out. Top with mascara, of course.

NYX Orange Soda Lipstick and a pale pink lip gloss over it.
Different lighting. Blush doesn’t show very well :/

Yes, I’m wearing the scarf that Dao crocheted for me! Isn’t it so sweet?
I’ve got some more food cart photos to share!! Stay tuned
I am alienman. Writing a small blurb about myself is the hardest thing to do. "Blurb" is a funny word.

This is a really cute and fresh peach look! NYX Orange Soda looks so pretty on you, and so does the blush!
Haha… yep, right makeup application makes quite a difference! Yay!
I love the lips!! You really nailed this season’s “nude” look!
I love the lips, and you look absolutely gorgeous in the last pic! You make me happy!
Brown eyeliner suits you well, it looks extremely natural. Also, I think it’s brave to show your naked face in the blog. In my opinion it’s really important to show the world that we’re not ashamed of ourselves, makeup or not.
Congrats on the new apartment, I’m glad you like it there
I and bf have been living together since last September, but now he’s doing his military service so for me it’s pretty much like living alone. I hate it ;__;
I love that lipstick color; it has nice glossy, nude look. And the makeup does make a difference! Very fresh.
Hey that before pic looks pretty damn good to me! You don’t want to see the crap that has erupted on my face since moving back to the parents! I still don’t know what’s going on with that! LOL!
Haha you give the apple & I’ll supply the lookout! But I love this look. It’s very “fresh” looking. Perfect for a clear spring day!
Yay for liking the new place & nice property managers! And what color are you gonna paint?! Btw.. don’t you see Tomo’s face in those pics? LOL She’s being forced against her will do to Tomo-Porn!
I wish I had your large monolid eyes.
Is that an oxymoron?? WHATEVER.
blergghhh I couldn’t hide my acne scars that well if my life depended on it.
nor could I get a pale lip like that!
It always ends up looking so feathery and weird on me
FOOD CART PORN PLZ.
I love the lip color on you! The entire look is very pretty and very spring-ish!
You have such *kissable* lips, girl! Lol, wow I sound creepy there. But just had to let you know! What color are you thinking about painting your wall? That’s so neat that your landlord lady will let you paint it up. The walls in my house are all a boring shade of ivory or pastel yellow. Haha, I wouldn’t mind a room that’s all black.
Oh thanks for the tip…I would love to do a smokey-eyed look, but unfortch my smokey blending skills suck. So instead, I just do the quick Rihanna eye tip, smear eyeliner on the bottom of my eyes. So quick and simple! You can tell how lazy I am when it comes to make-up *smh* And I know you told us in the post that it wouldn’t even matter, but I seriously think you such a pretty girl! INside and out!! (Hard to come by those kinda chicks these days). =)
Oooh, you wore my blush and scarf! The blush looks lovely on you. And words on the grapevine is true. Hopefully I can open shop very soon.
Such delicate and pretty make up!
Being a monolid myself, I love seeing your make ups!
I usually skip the eye makeup and wear glasses because of my monolids (I have no idea what to do with them), but I love your look here! I’m so trying it. And it would be nice to have nude lips for a change. Thanks!
