Just kidding about that Korea trip!
Seriously. Who the hell forgets to CHECK HER PASSPORT EXPIRATION DATE before planning a trip overseas? Alienman, that’s who. -_-v
Fortunately, I’m able to use the ticket for future flights. I guess I should be upset about this sudden interruption of my plans but, honestly, I’m happy that I don’t have to leave the boyfriend, yet. I didn’t realize how frightened I was by the thought of being away from him for so long.
Anyway, I have to hurry up and get a passport photo taken, so I submit for a renewal. I guess you ladies will have to wait on the Korea reports for just a little longer! How long does it take to replace a passport, anyway?
Life in Portland has been pretty good. The weather has been perfect for strolling about and checking out food carts. I must admit, I wish I had some girlfriends with whom I could hang out on such days. The boyfriend is great company and I’m always thrilled to share new experiences with him but I do get wistful about strolling the streets of Alberta with a close female companion.
For 70 cents a day, you can adopt me to be your friend T_T I'm kind of in love with the silver NYX liquid eyeliner. I've been lining the lower rims of my eyes like this.

It wasn’t enough for Dao, though. She had to send me more of her Formula D samples because she knows how much I loved her primer/finishing primer. On her card, she even wrote that she chose these colors because she knew I’d been wearing mostly neutrals lately. Curse her thoughtfulness and generosity! I banish thee to a world full of cute puppies and handsome glazed muscle-bound naked firefighters!

The texture is very fine and almost liquid smooth. I was amazed by how well it stayed in place. I can’t wait to share FOTDs using these!

I rushed my application for my passport (family emergency), and the dumb thing took almost three weeks anyway. Mine was an actual application and not a renewal, though.

ughhh I renewed my passport for a trip to Korea, and I think it took 4 months? I didn’t do the rush delivery since that was $80 extra. Actually I think i applied for a new one entirely, since it was over 10 years old or something, so it doesn’t qualify for a renewal.
Is Portland “artsy” ?
Or should I say, friendly, or “not that gloomy” ?
I’m planning on eiitthherr going to Portland or nyc for graduate school, but I’ve never even been to Portland (my family wants me to go there or Seattle, since nyc, philly, and chicago are “no way are you living there!”)
p.s. by not that gloomy I mean doesn’t rain 24/7. :’(

I love Asian products. and love your hair btw; I’ve been meaning to dye it brown, but with my thick, stubborn, dry black Asian hair, it’s awfully hard to dye. How did you get that shade?

Don’t worry…I’ve actually gotten to the airport and (1) discovered I left my passport at home; or (2) left my ticket at home!
I renewed my passport last year and I got it back in 6-8 weeks. It’s good to just get it done and over with.
Can’t wait to see some FOTDs of Dao’s stuff.
hmm, based on everyone’s feedback, it seems like it could take any random number of time to get my passport renewed. looks like i’ll have to focus on other things once i send in my form. i haven’t even taken a new picture, yet, ugh. Thanks for the tips, though, everyone
Amy: my hair is pretty thick, too! the stylist thinned out a LOT of it before dying it. I don’t trust myself to dye my own hair, so I’ve been going to the salon for dramatic color changes.
Tiffany: The winters here are long and VERY gloomy. People who come here claiming they love the rain end up HATING the rain. I cannot warn people of this enough and they think I’m exaggerating when I tell them that winters here are bad enough to hike up suicide rates. That being said, the culture and arts aspect of Portland is great. There are tons of events, large and small, and mostly affordable. The recent sprout of food carts has exponentially increased the charms of this town. The level of eco-consciousness is considerably higher than most cities, so it’s definitely a little more organic and personal than most steel/concrete urban settings.
Dao: The hat is unfortunately too small. I regret that I won’t be able to wear the full set but I am deeply appreciative of the work you put into it!! We should do handmade exchanges more often.

I think I put a rush order on my passport renewal, so it was maybe 3-4 weeks before I got a new passport, but I hear it can take a couple of months too.

Awww I’ll adopt you!! LOL…Btw I actually just got my passport renewed and it took about a week and a half but I paid a whopping $175 for expidited delivery! I think you should do the “Gyaru” look for you passport photo like you mentioned in you other post! I went all out and had big ol’ falsies and 10 layers of bronzer on in mine and it turned out looking awesome beats my old photo of my pimpley, greasy face from 7 years ago hahaha…
