Oh my god
Kind of reminds me of my grandma! She’s not that bad, though. Once when I was visiting her, she gave me a looong speech about how dangerous being overweight is. That doesn’t prevent her from stuffing me with all kinds of delicious food, candy and cookies, though, and complaining if I don’t eat enough. Lol!

This is my first time on your blog, nice to meet you! I saw your link on Makeup for Professional Asian Women’s page. I loooooove this comic, you have a great sense of humor. My mom is just like that, telling me to lose weight but encouraging me to eat all of her dinners. LOL I hope you do more of these great comic strips, you have a new fan.
Although I don’t know your aunt, I have a funny suspicion that your drawing of her is dead-on.
Ahahaha, I totally know how this feels. Except everyone says I look gaunt and need to EAT MORE SO YOU CAN GET TALLER. No matter that I stopped growing when I was 12. It’s a mixture of “omg I hate you, you are so skinny” and “eat more you are too skinny.”
I had to explain to hubs that my mom putting food on his plate is normal and mandatory, because she loves you. Hahahahahah!
I love this one, especially the last two panels. The drumsticks look so cute. In the last panel your aunt looks like one of those video game bosses that throw things at the main character….

haha aww, conflicted alienman! my mom pulls this routine with me as well – telling me i’ve gained weight and i should get thinner…and then getting after me if she can see part of my plate (food MUST cover ALL of plate!), and demands I take leftovers too.

Oh God, this is so true about Asian families. I have one particular uncle and aunt that said that I gained the freshman 15 and then proceeded to stuff me like a turkey.

Giiiiiiiiirl, just insert “Grandma” into your whole Aunty comic thing, and THAT’S EXACTLY what happens. And yet they stilllllllllllll have the nerve to call you out on your weight. Yet, when you don’t clean your plate whole, they give you a lecture on the starving kids in Africa. *sigh* Just no winning here, lol.
