Finally got around to getting the ol’ mane trimmed. Does it look too thinned out? I don’t know why she thought it was necessary to use a straightening iron. I mean, yea, my hair is kind of naturally wavy but I think it looks better than straight, limp hair.

Before
I got this shirt from Goodwill to wear as a pajama top. I think I need to burn it, though, because it still smells faintly of B.O. even after 4 hot water laundries. I didn’t notice until about day 3 after the last wash. It just kind of sneaks up on you and grows and festers until it becomes a thing that lives in your armpits. Commence the gagging and dry-heaving.

After. Uh... I think I kind of like the before better. Also, I now realize that NYX Circe lipstick doesn't look good on me without a lip gloss.
Is it me or does Bella seem to be plotting to kill me? *DUN dunnn*
I made my first (successful) hat! It’s a bit loose but it still fits well enough that I can wear it out. Next time, I’m going to do the rib-stitch part with smaller needles. I used Plymouth Encore Mega yarn.

I looooove the seed stitch, lol. O god. That sounded so knit-geeky. I also love soft and super chunky yarn xD. I love Plymouth Encore yarn! I LOVE LAMP. I LOVE... CARPET!

I've been wanting a hat like this for a while but never bought one because I was too cheap and I really, really wanted to knit my own.

Just what I need. A Cindy Crawford pimple to make me feel sexy. I should have colored it in with a pencil liner.

Dragged the poor boyfriend in for this shot. He had just washed his face. Look at how vulnerable and abused he looks. Just the way I like him.
We’ve been spending a lot of time at our favorite tea house. Along the way there today, we stopped at the Grilled Cheese Grill for – you guessed it – grilled cheese sandwiches!

Portland has become a haven of food carts. I’m all about cheap unpretentious eateries.

Okay, this scene got me a little too excited. I was squealing when I stepped in and not just because there was a sexy man in a brown jacket sitting there.

Intricately decorated by local artists.

My sandwich was the Southsider. Artichokes, Sundried Tomato, Mushrooms and Mozzarella on Grilled Sourdough. It was good. It was very, very good. 2nd photo taken by boyfwen. Click image to visit his Flickr.

Thank you SO MUCH for taking this picture of me, dear boyfriend. Haha. I actually made him take that picture. I have no shame. Click on image to visit his Flickr! There might be more blackmail material of me.
We’ve been going to Townshend’s Alberta Street Teahouse quite frequently to sip and work. They have a huge selection of teas and an awesome, awesome staff. Once the rush hours are passed, there’s plenty of room to plug in and sit for hours. I always leave the place ready to burst with tea overload, lol. I’m addicted to tea. I am trying to convince them to host tea tasting events, bwahaha.

Oh, he caught me drinking in the ambiance! Just kidding. I rushed over to the sofa and made him take this picture, too, haha! Click on image to visit his Flickr!
I love drinking hot earthy or bitter tea and cold milk boba tea at the same time. You think that’s weird? I also like eating sweet potatoes with kimchi. Don’t judge me.
This has been another episode of… “Alienman Humps Portland!” *campy theme song* If you’re wondering when the best time is to visit Portland, I would say between June and September when the days are longer and the rainy weather stops. The heat is quite tolerable, nights are always cool and tons of outdoor events take place. Do not visit in the winter. Not even if you’re dying to see me, HA! *slaps knee*

Contrary to my Mashimaro outburst, I actually like this picture he took of me. Click on image to visit his Flickr!
Thanks for viewing!

I am Alienman. This is my blog. I have sensitive acne-prone combination dry skin with an oily T-zone. Yea, my skin sucks. I have bulgy fatty monolids (aka single eyelids). I hate expensive over-hyped products that don't work. My female readers apparently dig my bewbs.

I love the hat on you! I think it looks cute. Besides, I think you’re better off making your own hat rather than purchasing one – it’s so much more personal.
That grilled cheese place looks fun! Grilled cheese on a bus! Oooey-gooey cheesy goodness. If you like good eats from hole-in-the-wall places, let me know whenever you come here to visit me and Sooji. We might not have grilled cheese, but I think I know a few places you might like.
You are too cute.
I like the hat too! I have one kind-of-sort-of similar to it (in that it is knit, and made of white yarn) but Denis makes fun of me whenever I wear it. He says it makes me look like a mushroom, and then he wants to jump on my head to see if he can get a 1-up. *cue Mario victory song*
Portland looks pretty, and jesus christ what I would give for a grilled cheese sandwich right now. Just wait until I move to Atlanta, and and and… we can… do like a house-swap or something.
love the hair and the hat! but you’re right, i definitely like your hair when it’s more wavy…you ooze victoria’s secret sexiness.
have you considered selling your stuff on etsy? i’m sure people would be flocking to buy your creations.
i think i might pencil in a trip to portland later in the year. all those places look so awesome! you’re doing free PR for portland
i’ve only visited portland once when i was super young, so the memories are pretty non-existent now. been wanting to do more traveling, so that’ll be a nice trip. possibly an oregon pow-wow in the works? :what do you think?
So, I made a fool out of myself in the library, cause when I saw the interior of the bus I squealed really loud. Like, oink oink loud.
Dang it.
UGHHH MUST GOOOO. ON MY LIST THIS SUMMER.
And YES I MAKE TRIPS TO JUST GO TO ONE RESTAURANT. NO REGRETS. Except my wallet. And then later my sanity.
I know the west coast about as good as I know the positions of countries in Africa.
Portland is close to Vancouver, and in my mind they are close to San Fransisco, which is close to San Diego. All within bunny hops.
:-O a school bus!!! a real yellow school bus!!!! Omigawwwd!!!!
Ok, when I’m no longer a somalian pirate, I’m def hopping over the border and you’re taking me there! I’ve wanted to sit in a yellow school bus since….I first saw it on American TV shows xD.
Yes simple things amuse me.

I love Portland, but I haven’t had a chance to explore the place that much. Last time I went, there was an anime convention and everyone thought I was some anime character because of my hair. -____-

The hat is so insanely cute <3
The pics are nice! I don't know that much about the grilled sandwich thing (that's what I get for living in the other side of the world D:) but yours looks delicious.

Whenever I see the pics you post of Portland, it makes me want to live there! It’s just so quaint and pretty
I might be moving to Seattle this May so maybe I can come visit! I actually have no clue if those two cities are even remotely close though haha! Geography was never my best subject…
Aaw… I wish I could knit, the hat looks really good on you.
CHEESE= <3 I love it! It is the best thing evah! I wonder how it was made the first time. Maybe someone left bowls ofmilk outside for too long and since they didn't have anything else to eat they thought: We might as well have this milk that already is in different stages of molding…
Only to find out that it wasn't so bad after all. So YAY for people who will try out moldy stuff.
The tea house looks so cosy, I could spend an entire afternoon there, no prob.
i love the pictures and i love your hat!
i gave up on knitting and turned to crocheting because then I can make the cute little amigurami animals =]
I love Goodwill – sometimes you can find the best pieces!
Awww, you and your bf seriously look UBER CUTE!!! Like, as in “you’re gonna be making cute mixed kids!-cute”. =)
How cool is that restaurant bus (or is it a bus restaurant?)!
I like that hat you knitted for yourself. Well done!

Hello, my fwenz. I thanks yous for commenting and showing the GoldfishCake some luvinz.
I don’t know if I could make a decent profit off of selling my own knitwear but it’s something I’d love to try for the sake of having tried it. I’m thinking of making limited edition knitwear and selling them here. We’ll see how it goes, though. I’ve made arrangements with a local knitter who wants to block my stuff for me
You guys let me know if you do visit!! I loooove Burnette’s idea of a Portland pow-wow!
marlene: I really want to learn to crochet!! Especially for the summer, so I can make lacy things like doilies and shawls xD
chi: Yea, the hours melt by like nothing. It’s the best place to just sit and chill all day. LOL I love your adorable comment about the world’s first cheese. OMG I LOVE CHEESE LOLOL When I was little my cousins used to hide cheese from me because I’d go after it like a cat after a mouse xD
Olive: OMG OMG OMG Are you serious?!?!?! Seattle is only 4 hours away. We seriously need to visit each other!! We should also do a road-trip with Connie to Vancouver to bug Klaudea, rasilla and macnunu xD Northwest pow-wow!
Sagu: LOL I wonder if grilled cheese sandwiches are one of those icky fatty American foods that make other people gag… I absolutely love grilled cheese, though. I especially love to make it at home on sourdough bread with Tillamook sharp cheddar, sprinkled with garlic powder… o god… I am drooling as I type this….
Jamilla: O hell yea xD I feel like every single week since moving here has been awesome!! Even the little things, like driving over the steel bridge just to run errands and seeing the whole cityscape around me… gets me all happy.
deeda: omg… popcorn puffs?!?! I have to learn to crochet.. I want to do popcorn puffs!
Dao: it’s actually a Dell netbook and it’s soooo teeny and light T_T I want one…. he keeps making fun of how heavy my laptop is and I have to refute it with “Can you install Adobe Suite on it?” lol
Connie: LOL that’s pretty funny. I love the colors you put in your hair btw. You always make me want to try it.
Macnunu: I find it sooo adorable how you get so fascinated with American culture, like Southern accents and yellow school buses lolol. You have got to smuggle yourself down here so I can give you a tour. Actually, I just find you adorable for every reason possible so smuggle yourself down here fast preez.
Tiffany: You have the awesomest website ever. That being said, YES, please visit. Haha, I’m glad I’m not the only one who squealed at the bus xD
Burnette: LOL Victoria’s Secret sexiness?!?! I could only wish…. but you made my day with that comment so have a grope.. I mean… hug.
May: Hahaha “1-up” made me laugh. I think I look like a mushroom in my hat LOL. I wore it yesterday to the Reddit meetup and this one guy seemed a bit too fascinated with it hahaha. Teased me about being completely wrapped in wool (was also wearing the scarf).
Carol: Oooomg with you, Sooji and – very soon – May all living there, I’ll have to come see you guys soon. The three of you sound like big trouble in Atlanta btw xD
Your hand-knitted hat is sooo adorable, Alienman! Have been looking for something like that too, but well… winter is nearly over this year (thankfully). You look too cute in all the photos!
Thanks, Jess
I’m going to need new yarn to make more spring-ready stuff!
That beanie looks really good on you. Where did you get it?
Thanks, Carmen! I made it
I can’t knit to save my life… I have tried though… Anyways, I have monolids too. I’m glad you have a blog about it because now a days it’s hard to find Koreans and most asians in general with monolids, they switched to Double. hehe
You guys are too cute, I still have some vomit residue from your previous posts… lol jk. I love the hat on you! I’m gonna have to try this grilled cheese grill place.
