I wish I had some great blog entries to leave with you for the remainder of the week. I had hoped to have some decent ones lined up and scheduled to be posted but I never got around to typing up any drafts. Sorry!
I fear I won’t have a lot of time for the next few days, either, because… guess what?
Alienman is leaving Eugene! The boyfriend and I are moving up to Portland. We had made this decision before the term had ended. We’d figured, since the boyfriend’s freelancing gig wasn’t tying him down to any location and school was the only thing keeping me here, it’d be the wisest thing to leave Eugene as soon as possible. Job prospects in Oregon are generally bleak but, in Eugene, it’s downright depressing.
I’m looking forward to sharing my experiences with you once I’m up there. Portland is a beautiful city, with just the right amounts of everything. You’ll still get to see great photos of the Oregon landscapes but you’ll also get to see the city through the eyes of one wandering alien. I hope that I find a job soon, and more importantly, one that I can be proud and happy to be doing.
I still haven’t decided on my New Year’s resolutions. I’ll have to get back to you on that one.
Anyway, thank you for being with me this past year (and all the previous years), as I learned to fight for control over my life from my parents while maintaining a relationship with them, returned to school and graduated within the same year, celebrated the third year of my healthy and strong relationship with my boyfriend, and learned to keep the depression in control without the aid of prescription meds.
I look forward to another wonderful year with you.

its nice when you can look back on the year, and see the growth, the steps that you went through to get to a better place now.
I can’t say that that is where I am with the difficulties in my life, but one can hope for that next year
