However, this is not a gaming blog. This is a makeup blog intended for brainwashing the impressionable minds of young women so that they become my minions, that I may one day rule the world talking about makeup.
This brings me to the very important issue. My new foundation, the Illamasqua Rich Liquid Foundation in 135, is much too pale for me! Also, the yellow hue seems to match my neck but it makes me uncomfortable seeing my face so yellow, too. I also had the worst time taking photos but I’m posting them anyway because I love how my lipstick looks.
I love how the rest of my body looks jaundiced. I really needed people worrying for me about my liver.
You guys know that I don’t usually do neutral colors. I prefer some color on my eyes and lips. However,I went with taupes for the eyes, this time, to balance out the bright and vivid lip color. Ugh. If only I had a decent foundation, this look would have been perfect!

To be honest, I like how ghostly my face looks here. I almost want to keep it to do some super dramatic goth-like or romantic looks, with matte velvet red lips or a very dramatic black smoky eye with pale nude lips. Unfortunately, I’d have to cover up the rest of my body and I don’t think a white floating face is a good look this year.

It doesn't look so pale when light doesn't hit me directly. I should just cower from the light all the time when I wear this foundation. Or, I should just return it.
So far, I like the MUFE primer. I needed something for winter, when my skin gets very sensitive and dry but still acne-prone. This primer is very hydrating and helps makeup and concealer stay put on my skin. During the summer, I highly recommend Shiseido Anessa Perfect UV sunscreen as a primer.

I've had the hardest time getting decent lighting for my pictures at night.
I love my Secret Santa so hard for these gorgeous NYX Round Lipsticks she sent me. I also love myself for treating myself to Sephora lip glosses. I love that they’re sheer enough that they’re not overpowering but they’re pigmented enough to be worn alone. I also love that they’re not sticky, nor do they peel the heck out of my lips. They feel like lube but don’t taste nasty. Don’t tell me you never accidentally tasted lube. Ok, omg, don’t give me that look, I CAN FEEL IT FROM HERE.
Eyes
- NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Iced Mocha, Cottage Cheese and Slate
- NYX Chrome Eyeshadow in Iced Mocha
- Sephora Metallic Eyeliner in Taupe
- Maybelline Lash Stiletto mascara layered over CoverGirl LashBlast
I’m disappointed with the Sephora eyeliners. On the back of my hand, the colors came out nicely pigmented and oh, so shiny. They don’t seem to apply well on top of eyeshadow, though. See how it looks watered down? I had hoped it’d come out darker. You can’t even tell it’s supposed to be metallic.
FOUNDATION FAIL!! Rip it off!

Alienman, from what I can see from the photos, your skin looks gorgeous! Smooth and flawless! Ugh, I totally know what you mean about bad lighting – I have this problem most of the time either (but fortunately I found out that my bathroom lighting is ok for taking photos).

Call me (and your other commenters) crazy, but I think this foundation looks great on you. They do say to match the color to your neck, not your face but I still tend to match to my face and blend into my neck instead.
Just do what makes you feel most comfortable, which I’m thinking is a slightly darker foundation.

Seriously, you look so cute in the pink lipstick. I took a look at the illamasqua foundation swatches and wished they need a darker version of 135. It’d probably match me too?
Hmm… it’s really hard to say, 135 actually looks fine on you! I think I would have to catch some shots of you in natural sunlight to really be able to tell. And I do like the bright pink lip, it’s so… scrumptiously cute and gorgeous at the same time on you! I can’t seem to pull that look off, my lips aren’t full enough for it or something.
I thought the Illamasqua 215 would be too dark/orangy on me but it looks fine when blended out, and I checked in all the different lighting conditions both inside and outside my house. I think it might have something to do with the fact that my forehead is a bit darker than the rest of my face, and the 215 is kind of the happy medium between the two. That, and it blends out really well so even when it’s too pale it never looks “chalky”. Or maybe I’m just weird. I swear to god, most of the foundation that swatches fine on my face always ends up looking a bit pale on me after it’s been properly applied and blended. I wish I knew what was up with that.
Anyway! My finals are over too, so I’m thrilled to be laying back and relaxing. Well, they’re technically not over, just postponed to Jan. 30th… yeah, huge snowstorm this side of the country = school closing.
Oh god I’m such a doofus. I forgot to mention… Illamasqua also makes a 140, which is for light-medium golden skin. Maybe you should give that a try if you think 215 is too dark ^^

I think it’s b/c of the awful incandescent lighting in the house, though. It seems to respond well to the camera but, in person, the foundation is really bright and yellow. Even my boyfriend, who NEVER criticizes my makeup, said it was too light. That was the dealbreaker for me.
Just to be sure, I tried it on again today. It didn’t sit too well on my face, was chalky and hard to spread, and it clumped around my acne, making the broken skin so noticeable. I hate my sensitive skin so much T_T I’ll have to return the 135 and, either order the 140 and hope for the best, or get matched at a department store for another brand.

Ahh, I used to play Zelda Oracle of seasons on my nintendo. When it got to hard parts, I would get my brother to do it. I play the cartoony looking Zelda (?!) with my boyfriend sometimes. For some reason he likes watching me play it o_o probably because I get too into it. It’s emotionally draining sometimes, and I get stressed playing it. I have to save my sister! What if some creepy monster in Zelda is doing bad stuff to her, oh noessss, and I keep falling off this cliff.
first, I LOVE that lip for you. Foundation can be tough for olive/yellow tones….I feel you on the looking yellow all over thing. To avoid foundation overwhelming my face I use a really great bronzer lower cheek bone to jaw and then put my blush on as usual. e all use make-up in different ways, so it might not be right for you, but its been extremely helpful for me.
Right now I’m using 24.7 Minerals ‘simply bronze’ from CVS. The website lists it as a foundation, the package lists it as a bronzer. I got it first in the bronzer set and just re-ordered it solo. It gives you a great color to contour and make foundation look more subtle without any distracting shimmer or pink tones.

Wow! The hot pink looks great! I like your choice to balance it with a very light neutral eye. It’s like a day-time spin on the classic neutral eye/red lips look that everyone’s into nowadays.
This lip color reminds me of my first ever really colorful lipgloss…it was almost that pink, and from Missha, and it looked so nice! But it smelled like watermelon-flavored cough syrup and it tasted like Dial liquid hand soap. Man. (I only know what Dial tastes like because I tried eating some as a kid. Not the brightest bulb in the box, me.) Might have to hunt down Narcissus…
