Day at the Orchards FOTD

We were expecting some rain this weekend but the day turned out to be nothing but perfect 70-degree weather and beautiful sky.

We’re still anticipating endless days of rain, as one should expect of Oregon climate, so we were pretty eager to take advantage of this gorgeous weather by visiting the pumpkin patch. We ended up having way too much fun.

Here is the FOTD for the day.

What the hell is going on my eyelids up there? Are they creasing even without false lashes now? Have we finally approached the final days of GoldfishCake as a monolid makeup blog?

I don’t always wear false eyelashes, although my blog entries probably make it seem like I do. During the day, if I’m wearing makeup, I’m content with my short lashes. I’ll do what I can with mascara but I try to emphasize my eyes using other means.

I think that’s why I get heavy-handed with my lower lash-line sometimes. I want to figure out a new way to line my outer lower-lash rims. For the daytime, the lowered dark eyeliner seems too heavy. Any suggestions? I was thinking of trying out some colorful kohl eyeliners but I worry about smudging.

I don’t have close ups of the eyes today, sorry. I had to snap these pictures quickly before heading out the door.

Here is a sample of what is to come in the next blog entry. We took a bunch of pictures at the orchards. I think we had more fun than the kids that came in the school bus, although I’m sure the chaperons were shaking their head in disapproval at the fully-grown woman crawling around in the kids’ hay maze and riding around on the pumpkin cart.

Boyfriend tried to make me miss this shot. I was too fast. Do you like how the slant of the image emphasizes my reaction speed?

OMG YAYYY We are here and there are so many pumpkins!

Delicious apples are also in season. They were perfectly ripe and so good! We also sampled the apple cider and there was no way we could NOT buy one. The cider tasted exactly as if we were eating fresh apples, with no added taste or sweetener.

bonk! This is me pretending to try to be silly when I’m actually trying to be cute. My god, Alienman, you’re twenty-nine now. Give it a rest already.

This is me not even close to trying… and apparently getting my ass kicked by an apple. Boyfriend took this picture, of course.
