Several weeks ago, I was having lunch with a friend when the boyfriend called me.
Me: Hello?
Boyfriend: Haaaiiii!
Me: O, hey! Where are you? It sounds loud.
Boyfriend: I’m at Costco. I wanted to get some snacks and I thought I’d ask you if we need anything.
Me: We need eggs, some milk…
At this point, I realize we had also run out of condoms. However, I’m at a Thai restaurant with a friend and there is no quiet way I can say “condoms” without being overheard by complete strangers.
Me: … and, uh, there was something else we ran out of last night. You used up the last one and told me so.
Boyfriend: Ooooh

Today marks the third year milestone of our relationship. I can say with complete confidence that they have been the happiest years of my life. Before I met him, happiness had seemed like a luxury that I was not allowed to even want. With him in my life, however, I have been wrapped in sheer and untainted happiness. I’m amazed at his capacity to love one person in such voluminous quantities. I am amazed that I am the recipient of such a wonderful brand of love. I am also amazed at how mushy I have become that I’m actually saying these drippy sappy sticky-sweet words. MY GOD WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MEEEEEEE

Happy anniversary!!!! My hubby and I are at about…8 years being together and we were forever being told that the early giddiness will wear off after 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year, 3 years… They stopped saying things after 3 years so you’ve hit that mark.
