Greetings, Earthlings!
Your resident Alienman is back with another smoky eye because she has been dying to try this look out. Now that I have finally acquired the long-desired NYX Round Lipstick in Orange Soda, I was able to give it a whirl. So, please forgive me if you find this FOTD too similar to last week’s.
CherryCulture has been prompt and courteous about sending me the NYX Orange Soda Round Lipstick, which had somehow been left out of my recent order.
the inspiration
I came across that image when flipping through this year’s September issue of Scawaii. There is no way in hell that I could ever look EXACTLY like her and I am sure everybody is thankful that I never dreamed of pursuing a career in modeling. However, there is no harm in being inspired, is there?
Don’t answer that question. It was rhetorical.
Is there? o_o;;
Okay, enough. I’m getting all paranoid and self-conscious now.
I don’t read a single syllable of Japanese, so I don’t know what the MUA used to achieve this model’s look, but I was sure it couldn’t be something cheap. Good ol’ NYX to the rescue! As with all their other products, Round Lipsticks cost a mere several dollars but offer quality texture and great color payoff.
NYX Round Lipstick in Orange Soda
NYX Round Lipstick in Orange Soda swatched. It’s really hard to capture the actual vividness and brightness of this color.
Maybe it’s because I’m still not used to very pale nude lips but I wasn’t comfortable with how bright the lipstick was. To dampen it a bit, I applied a coat of NYX Mega Shine Lipgloss in Crystal Soda.
mmmmm…mwah. whether u like it or not, i just kissed u. yea. don’t you feel violated.
I’ve also taken care to take picture before and after applying false lashes this time. As I’ve mentioned before, the sturdiness and length of the false lashes push my eyelids up and make them fold in and bulge out, thereby giving off an illusion of double eyelids in photos. A few viewers have pointed out how I appear to have creases and, yes, it does look that way in the pictures but it’s actually just fatty bulge, much like a third chin or a fourth boob… or even a muffin-top. Yea, sounds delightful, doesn’t it?
So, this time, I’m uploading some pictures to show you how the makeup would look before applying false lashes. I’m glad you guys pointed out the crease or I might not have taken this potentially important step. So, don’t hesitate to ask questions, leave comments or leave suggestions!

We didn’t really take these pix in these order but I like how it makes me look like I’m slithering closer to him with my lips puckered out. LOL. I look SO CREEPY. Yea, I bet all the men are jealous now. Who doesn’t want a creepy Alienman inching closer looking like a parasitic leech?

Haha thanks for the hilarious responses, everyone! Yea, it’s a very very pale orange-tinted nude. I really like it! I’m wearing peach lip gloss over it, too. It seems like a great color for the summer-to-fall transition.

ooh. looks like orange soda does look very similar to YSL volupte Peach Passion! I think Peach Passion is a bit darker and brighter though… Orange Soda looks more nude and pale. I think it looks fabulous on you though! If you love it, check out the ysl cause it really lasts allllllllll day.
