the Cake Was No Lie

Here are photos I’ve been meaning to share. I can’t believe I forgot about it.

My cousin made me this amazing cake for my birthday.

Cooking is a hobby of hers and I get to enjoy the benefits of having her live so close by.

My god, this has got to be the best cake I have ever tasted. The moist fluffy cake, the light cream that melts into milk in your mouth, the generous peach slices hidden inside like edible treasure, the underwhelming sweetness that makes it easy to eat large amounts… Just thinking about it makes my tongue swim.

I will have to ask for the recipe. I wonder if she used yogurt. It made me sad that something so beautiful and so delicious could not last forever.

Thank you for the wonderful cake, Unni!!!

I miss moist cakes. They’re not so common in Japan. So I eat macarons instead :D

they do exist, but I’ve only found a few. Drier sponge cakes are much more common. Macarons are really good but sometimes I want moist, buttery cake… :D
