Alienman is back with an FOTD. It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these, huh?

Several years after becoming a BzzAgent, they finally hooked me up with one of their campaigns. Basically, you try out their product and, if you like it, you tell your friends about it. Then, you report back to them about how you told your friends about it. You make yourself a conduit for viral marketing but you don’t get paid for it, hah!
Just to make sure I haven’t given off the vibe that this is some kind of advertorial, let me say right now that I’m not being paid or offered any kind of incentive for blogging about this. I’ve already done my Bzz by telling my close friends about the product and handing out coupons, but what I write here is simply for the sake of having content and it’s been too damn long since I’ve done an EOTD or product review.
Not that any of my 3 readers would care, LOL.

**WARNING: Lots of cam-whoring in this entry! Enter at your discretion!
I was pretty excited to be selected for this one because it was for the CoverGirl Outlast Lipstain. What really bums me out is that I can’t remember what color I selected and it’s not written anywhere on the product or anywhere in the campaign booklet or packaging. I wish I could tell you guys what color it was because I really like it.
I’m leaning towards Berry Smooch as a possibility because I have been infatuated with acquiring a just-ate-a-shit-ton-of-berries look after seeing how kissable my lips looked after drinking blueberry smoothies. It’d be hilarious if I did do that look one day and people kept telling me to wipe my damn mouth.
**NEVAMIND!! I just checked my BzzAgent account and saw that I had selected Teasing Blush. HAHA NEBARRMINNNNEEEEEDUH
Basically, it’s a washable magic marker for your lips and it’s supposed to stay on your lips for a long time. They never do specify number of hours.

I wore it last night when I was conducting “field research” at a bar for my Sociology class. How awesome is it that, for one of my papers, I have to observe a bar scene for an hour and half? Not very awesome, actually, because sitting at a bar and watching other people get drunk for 1.5 hours is boring as hell, especially when none of that alcohol is being consumed by me. Ah, well. At least, I had an excuse to wear makeup. I was dismayed that not many folks were bringing their A-game to the scene. In fact, the most successful display of hooking up I noted was when my boyfriend chatted up a group of guys about some UFC game and we came home with one of their phone numbers. It sounds all very strange without context, I know, so I won’t offer any context, mwahaha.
Here is a picture of me “conducting research”, taken by my boyfriend w/his cellphone.

Makeup Log:
The lip color was rather dramatic, so I avoided too much color on the eyes.

lipstain review
Picture of lips just after first application of lipstain:

Picture of lips 5 hours (plus a plate of nachos, a pint of beer and a glass of water) later:

As you can see, there has been noticeable fading over the course of five hours, with the intake of food and beverage. You will definitely have to reapply after food and drinks.
Pros:
There has been no transference, as promised. I’ve kissed the boyfriend multiple times, as heavily as possible, with the sole excuse of testing out the product. Oh, what a blogger must do in the name of journalistic integrity! Not a hint of color on his lips. The product didn’t come off on a napkin or glass or anything.
The water-based product, which contains glycerin and hyaluronic acid, did not dry out my lips in the least. I suffer from pretty dry lips and I never had to apply lip balm throughout the night, nor was there any peeling or cracking. I was also surprised that the natural sheen of my lips was not disturbed.
Nor did I feel any kind of weight or stickiness. In fact, I didn’t feel anything at all, as if my lips were completely bare.
Applying the product was fun and easy because I felt like I was a little girl drawing red lips with a magic marker. The firm tapered tip allowed for accuracy.
I personally found the raspberry-vanilla scent to be very subtle but I don’t have a very keen sense of smell.
It washed right off! I was worried that it would stay on after cleansing and that I’d have to rub at it really hard, like I had to do with the Maybelline SuperStay lipgloss. Foam cleanser and water took it right off!

Cons:
I wonder how long one $7.29 tube lasts. I have a feeling this product wouldn’t last as long as the gel or cream-based lipstains, nor as long as the brush-on types. I also suspect leaving the cap open would be heavily consequential.
Another con is that I have no other lip stains to compare this with. Sorry about that. Maybe it was too brazen of me to do an interview in the first place?
Would I buy it again? Yes. They gave me a bunch of $1 off coupons for this that expire in September, so I’m definitely going to make several trips and buy different colors.
I’m also sharing coupons with the first two readers who comment here with a “I wanna try!”
Thanks for reading!

thanks for the review! can’t look at the pictures at work, but it sounds like a nice product. most permanent lip colors feel rather drying, so this is a good compromise.

it looks very lovely on you ^^
You look really good with darker lips! Like a 1940′s movie siren (and that’s a good thing!).
Thanks for going the extra mile in the name of journalistic integrity!!
This is completely oxymoronical, but I wish there was a lip stain that makes your lips a *lighter* color. Like a lip stain that gives you a perfect nude shade, because nude lipsticks fade off so quickly and are annoying to reapply. COVERGIRL, ARE YOU LISTENING? *takes off tin foil cap*
OoOo you look so good in it!! I wanna try!!
You have such cute lips, their like rose buds! And you look smokin’ in the last pic, love it!

I hope everything is going well with school! Lol I always found my Psych and Sociology courses had the most interesting homework / projects.
I’ve been wary of those felt tip stains because they look like they would taste like chemicals, haha. Maybe I will give those a try since you said it has a nice fruity scent.
Yea! Sociology is definitely fun. So far so good with school. Thanks for asking, Arashi
Keep in mind that I have a very dull sense of smell. Hopefully, being water-based would make the lip stain tolerable for you.
Such a pretty FOTD. the lipstain really suits you, it gives you a vampy look in a subtle way!
