In my ho thuk entry, I shared a glimpse of this sweet hand-crafted notebook where I had the recipe written.

This notebook was made for me by a local friend who has been a great friend to me since the day we first met. She and I met on Myspace. She then met the man who would become her husband on Myspace. I was already with my boyfriend whom I met on, you guessed it, Myspace. How does this happen?! I never even liked Myspace.
I had given her a pair of cream-colored shoes with black lace trimming. She tore those babies apart and turned them into a book to let me know what she thought of me and my gifts. “That’s what you get for deleting your Myspace without telling me!” she snarled.
Just kidding. She DID use those shoes as inspiration to make the gorgeous book, though. Each cream-colored page is stamped in the corner with a rusty brown butterfly.

I was overwhelmed. I never had a friend make something so beautifully just for me.
O, wait. I’ve had a stalker fashion red clay-dough hearts and fake blood, and spear them with toothpicks, though. He stuck it on my door with a post-it note that read, “WILL YOU NEVER UNDERSTAND ME?!” Does that count for something?
I’m kidding. That never happened. I’m such a liar but, O, how delightful I am otherwise!
I was scared to put a pen or pencil to any of those perfect blank pages. I didn’t want to ruin it.
When I told her so, she almost got indignant and told me I was to use it for anything and everything. I was to scribble on it, doodle and write meaningless things… anything; she just wanted it put to full use.
So, I’ve tried, but still somewhat sparingly.
Here are a couple of drawings I did with a thin Sharpie. I was very careful because I HATE using pencil, so I went straight for the Sharpie, but I didn’t want to make any regrettable mistakes. Sharpies bleed, of course, so I would tuck a folded paper towel underneath each page that I was drawing on.

*DUN DUNNNNN*

“Me time??”

Okay, Bella. Okay -_-
I am alienman. Writing a small blurb about myself is the hardest thing to do. "Blurb" is a funny word.

but i have to say, some of your drawings remind me of one of my favorite manga authors – ai yazawa… to be specific, have you ever looked at paradise kiss? i don’t know how much you are into manga but i think you may like it. it’s a short series, consisting of maybe 5 volumes but it made my heart flutter and the drawings were absolutely breath-taking! if you get a chance you should check it out

Wow that thing is soo beautiful!!! I could never be that creative!! LOL!!! When I was younger though I used to buy diff colored/sizes post-its and stamp the corners with various stamps and give them as gifts! Does that count? Shit took time though!!

To answer your question on dandruff shampoo – I found Neutrogena T-Gel to be the only shampoo that effectively helps with my dandruff. Other than the dandruff control, it’s pretty much a no frill shampoo. I only use it about once or twice a week though. I love your notebook – I prefer handmade gifts rather than store bought ones.
what a thoughtful gift – and it’s so gorgeous! I love having writing tools like that – but I’m the same way and don’t want to ruin something that’s already so beautiful. Your drawings add a lot to it though – the fact that you’re drawing in pen alone with that skill is awesome
Wow, cute notebook! I love your drawings and Bella is so cute! Look at those cat eyes!
