Been doing a lot of the brown, lately.
In other news, I show up way too pale in photos. I don’t think I look this pale in person. I don’t know how to fix this without making everything else too yellow. Suggestions? Or maybe I AM too pale. I feel nekkid pale. If this makes any sense to you, you’re probably from the same planet as I am. What? @_@ ZOMG Alienman, get some sleeeeep.

I am alienman. Writing a small blurb about myself is the hardest thing to do. "Blurb" is a funny word.

Nekkid is good… hehe *wink*
It’s about time! I was about to crack the whip over the Pacific Ocean!! But you came through in time!! YAY!!
I bought the Monistat but haven’t used it yet, cuz I wanna use up my crap ass MAC Matte. What was I saying?! Oh yeah.. Whiteheads huh? Bad? SHould I not use the monistat?
You don’t look that pale! Funny, in my pictures out come incredibly tan and I’m not at all! I hate cameras….
You’re so cute! Cameras are weird sometimes, mine always make me look yellow. Can you try different lightning options in the camera? Oh yeah, I have Monistat thingy too and it gives me lots of white heads. So now I’m putting it in quarantine before throwing it away.
I never tried the Monistat anti-chafing gel, but I don’t use primers anymore, even though I have the Laura Geller stuff. Primers just don’t seem to DO much for me, and they seem to give me white heads too.
For dealing with whiteheads on your nose, have you tried the Murad T-Zone Pore Refiner? I love that stuff – I got a deluxe sample from Sephora and it’s pretty awesome. I use it all over my face, and I don’t really even need moisturizer afterwards.
I’ve always liked pink on you! I remember that other one you did last year when you first cut your hair. Haha I feel like such a stalker…
Yeah I try to stay away from silicone-based products now because I’m convinced my cleansers don’t remove it well enough. I wonder chemically though what would be the best to remove silicones. I know oil based removers are good for makeup because makeup is oil-based, but I’m sure silicones are different.
Hrmm.
I haven’t written a post about the Murad stuff – I just don’t bother reviewing makeup products anymore, these days, plus I haven’t been shopping much either, so I don’t really have anything to review.
The Murad T-zone Pore Refining gel is like… well, I don’t really know how to describe it. Pretty watery consistency, really light – seems like the main ingredients in it are aloe vera gel, glycolic acid and water. I mean, I’m sure there’s more crap in there (something about pomegranate extract) but it seems like something I could brew up in my bathroom with those 3 ingredients and get pretty similar results. It’s a little bit sticky when you first apply it, but it seems to absorb after 5-10 minutes. I usually apply it at night after I finish washing my face. When I wake up in the morning, my face just seems really soft and velvety. It does sting sometimes, especially around my nose – but it’s more of an irritating itch than a sting. I’ve been using it for about a month now – I went two weeks with it, then a week without, and this past week I’m back on it again. At first I didn’t think it was doing much for my skin, so I skipped using it in my routine, but after a week of going without, I noticed all the white heads and clogged pores were coming back. So, yeah.
It does a really great job of drying up zits and it seems to even out my skin tone too. It’s got a lot of alcohol in it, but it doesn’t seem to be drying out my skin at all – in fact, I’ve been skipping moisturizer altogether these days, though I still use an eye cream. The deluxe sample I have is irritating in that it comes in a tiny bottle that only blebs out a tiny bit of the stuff at a time, but a tiny bit of this stuff does go a pretty long way. I usually just have to cover two finger tips 2-3 times with the stuff, and spread it all over my face and a little under my chin. My pores are tiny and it keeps my skin pretty clear. One thing is the sticker price though – $40 for 2 ounces. On the other hand, it works well enough that I would shell out the money for it, so, yeah, I’d say this stuff is pretty good if it could get a notorious cheapskate like me to pay for it
I’ll throw it on in the morning occasionally, though it DOES leave a shiny sheen on my face (not oily, just… oddly shiny.) Throw some powder on top of that though, and then I’m good to go for the day.
Blu – From my quickly googling dimethicone, it’s chemically pretty similar to alkane hydrocarbons. Just an alternating, single-bonded Si-O backbone. Since Si is right below C on the periodic table, it has similar chemical properties. Given the structure, I’d say it’s mostly nonpolar, so probably a nonpolar (like an oil-based cleanser) would be best for removing it. I swear by the Shu Uemura stuff. (However, if its a substituted siloxane, there’s no telling about the polarity, though my guess is that it’d still be have mostly nonpolar characteristics, since it’s a polymer.)
Oh god, I’m sorry, that was so geeky of me
This is what happens when you study too much for organic chemistry.
Holy shit, May, that was HOT. I’m not being sarcastic here.
