Biogem Bien Belle BB Cream and Silk Naturals Haul

Here’s something I haven’t done in a while, which is talking about makeup.

A couple of weeks ago, my mother brought me back a tube of Biogem Bien Belle BB Cream. Being my mother, she deemed it important to be as picky as possible and checked the colors of the products and their SPF factors. She finally settled on this one b/c its SPF was 45 and the sales lady insisted that this was “the best on the market and the most effective”.

If you guys know me even remotely, you’d know I usually don’t take the opinions of makeup vendors – particularly Korean ones – very seriously b/c I believe many will fluff the hell out of their most expensive ones to get you to buy it.

Still, I was up for trying something new, especially a new brand of BB Cream, so I was thrilled. I was also thrilled with its SPF properties. I HATE being tan. Some girls look like goddesses in tans and that includes many Asian women. Me? I look like I fell in a pile of soot.

Compared to the DermaRX Beblesh Balm, the Bien Belle (good beauty? wtf?) has better coverage, but is just as ashy. What makes this funny is that, when my mom told me about it over the phone, she was like, “This matches our skin tone better than all the others. The others were too yellow! We’re not yellow!” She seems to think we’re of a special breed of Koreans with pink-tinged porcelain skin. Apparently, I’m not special enough for Bien Belle. *wipes a tear

Covers my blemishes moderately well. I do believe this does cause some acne breakouts, but it hasn’t been flaming cystic ones like those caused by Lioele and DermaRX. I’m going to keep using it for a few more weeks to see if it gets worse, or if my skin gets used to it. It’s frighteningly pale on its own (doesn’t look that way in the pic, tho) so I have to wear some Silk Naturals over it to balance it out.

SPEAKING OF WHICH!!! Guess what else I haven’t done in a while? RAVE ABOUT SILK NATURALS HAHAHA

Yes, I’m hooked. I gotta have my WHITE POWDER on a regular basis or I’ll DIE @_@ ZOMG DO I NEED REHAB?!

Seriously, the color stuff lasts forever. I haven’t even finished the sample. The Ivory foundation, though, they should enable a bi-monthly subscription for this.

Okay, seriously? SERIOUSLY?! Didn’t I already complain that they sent me a sample of Birthday Suit with my PURCHASE of Birthday Suit, which I found to a really bad color for me? Yet, the stars aligned just so that I was to receive ANOTHER sample of this. The icing on the cake would be if a Cherry Culture free lip gloss somehow got magically thrown in there. THEN, I’d have something to blog about.

I also ordered the Wet-Dry eyeshadow brush because I had heard rave reviews about it.

Oh, wait! Wait!!

My bad! It’s a Wer-Dry brush. LAWL

More lippies!

Berry Crush seems darker than I had expected but it’s still a gorgeous color. I noticed I didn’t have a nude lip color, so I ordered the Kiss Bliss in Divine. I’m not used to a color so opaque and nude at the same time. It’s also more pink than I had expected, but I don’t entirely hate it. You’ll see what I mean in my FOTD post.

I ordered vanilla-colored shimmer for my cheekbones and nose bridge. I figured all the SPF in the world could not help me if they couldn’t help me years prior to this. Eventually, I will tan. So, I thought I’d make the best of it and start playing with some glow factor. Again, you’ll see what I mean in my next post.

I did my SN trial run, and was pretty impressed with it. Right now I’m on my EM trial run. So far I like the coverage of SN better, but the EM has better finish for me. Does that make sense? EM is more matte.

But I’m defintely going to pick up more SN white and finishing powder, and I’ll probably switch between SN & EM.

LOL about the lippie sample and the CC lipsuck! Birthday Suit didn’t work for me either when I tried out the sample the sent. And we all know the CC Cherry gloss is ASS!

    love your blog!
i got suckered into the bb craze with kimoko’s blog and the cozycot forum, too. did a cp (from gmarket & hmall lol-thanks for introducing gmarket) and got etude magic w/ spf30, lioele (based on your initial review =]), brtc perfect recover, skinfood aloe & mushroom, missha watery, & coogi flowertox. Out of all of that, my favorite has got to be the etude. I hope that your new bb works out for you! If you’re willing to try another one after that, try one from etude =] it’s awesome. (btw, I have oily/acne prone skin, but i don’t think i’m sensitive to cosmetics. I just break out really bad when i eat french fries lol but i love them! damnit. gluttony vs. vanity. so hard to choose =/)
