climate control from Wally’s World

It’s been one of those really flukey weathers. This past couple of weeks, we’ve experienced drastic hikes up to 95 degrees and, in two days, it dropped to 45 and we could see our breaths misting out of us. It seems more normal now for May weather, which is great b/c we still haven’t purchased an a/c.

Actually, we HAD purchased an air conditioner on the first day of such hot weather. The boyfriend was pretty anxious about picking one up asap b/c he recalled how his old roommate had waited til the last minute and there was only one left in the entire state of Oregon and he had to pay triple the retail price. So, we just found the cheapest one at Walmart. Why that was even our first stop, we couldn’t tell you. Normally, I HATE shopping there. I always feel like Walmart promotes social decay or something.

I didn’t think the a/c worked too well but I tried my best not to complain (meaning, I only complained like once.. or maybe twice.. *sheepish laugh*) because the boyfriend would get upset. I dunno… I think it’s something to worry about when the evening outdoors is much more cooler than the maximum air conditioned indoors. Then again, the summer evenings here get dramatically cooler than the daytime.

I think the boyfriend was inclined to agree. Once the weather cooled down, the air conditioner was boxed up and taken back to Wally’s World. There, we were told by the elderly gentleman greeter that we had to wait for him to ticket everybody else’s returns first. Apparently, this Walmart had a policy where you had to get your items ticketed before you took it to customer service. It’s sad to say that I’m pretty sure the poor old man was glad to have something to do other than just greet people at the door.

It was also incredible how random some of the other people’s purchases were. For one thing, I noticed that they were all small enough to fit in pockets and along waistlines of pants, get my drift??

The boyfriend wasn’t too thrilled about the whole waiting process. I think this is where we made the final graduation into absolute snobbery towards the stereotypes of the ghetto.

Boyfriend: “From now on we’re not buying electronics here ever again! ONLY IN COSTCO FROM NOW ON!”

Me: “But the return was so much easier than you’d expected.” He had worried that they might not take the a/c back

Boyfriend: “BUT WE HAD TO STAND IN THE WHITE TRASH LINE!!!”

When he spat out the words “white trash line” so bitterly, I couldn’t stop myself and cracked up for a good 20 minutes.

To top it off, the boyfriend heatedly added, “Every one of those people stole something! Don’t tell me otherwise!”

I don’t know why that’s so funny, but even as I recall it now, I laugh. Yea, it’s probably not PC to publicly laugh at a certain subculture and call them “white trash” but you guys should have seen the people in the line and the stuff they brought in, too.

He’s been really getting into his photography. Bella’s a great model. She really seems to enjoy having her picture taken, even though she doesn’t get to look at them.

“MOWR!”

i’m sure Bella is just lovely. But frankly, she looks a little bit like a lynx, or a smaller breed of mountain lion.

  2. alien man?!

Exactly! I think that, too! I see pictures of linx(es?) and bobcats and they look a lot like her. Also, her personality seems more similar to that of a solitary wildcat T_T

HAHA I HATES Walmart too and I refuse to go there. Bella is making stinky face!! Beautiful picture of her. Weather’s been wonky down in Cali too. It was scorching hot one weekend, then the next weekend we had storm clouds… what’s going on?

WOW! That pic is sooo clear and captured right in the moment! She looks like she smiling!

sorry about all the trouble you had on returning! It sucks when things turn out that way.

    I can’t stop laughing at
“…Walmart promotes social decay or something”…I feel the same way about Chili’s..Why? I dunno. I hated going there, and while watching people eat, I’d always think “THIS is the highlight of your week? Gross food, crappy drinks, and bad service?” Hey, kill me for sounding snobbish, I like spending money on good food and produce, LOL.

Ugh. GAWD. Walmart is the pits. The customers are some of the rudest people ever. And I’ll have to agree with Aya about Chili’s. It’s the most unsanitary chain of restaurants ever to exist. I’ve had a meal there once where a roach crawled right onto our table. O_O The manager had the nerve to invite us back and give us certificates towards our next meal. Errh…?

Whoa. Definitely see the similarities to a wildcat!

Dude, go to Target. Target is amazing. Walmart is evil. :P
