411 on Bella

A loooong while back, wuzzyangel tagged me but I figured I was way more important than my cat and I’d much rather talk about myself than about her. That’s right. I was jealous of all the attention she gets while I only draw repulsed grimaces and shudders. J/k j/k

* What’s your pet’s name?

Bella

* How did your pet get that name?

She used to belong to a much older friend of mine. At the time, her name was Bennie, after some 80′s singer Pat Benatar. The name didn’t seem to suit her at all, as the cat was such a princessy diva and I wanted a name for her that reflected that. Also, her personality has seemed to warm up considerably since the change of names.

* What type of animal is your pet?

Uh… I think she’s a medium-haired brown-gray tabby? My mother thinks she’s half bobcat or lynx cuz she’s so huge, solitary and vicious around strangers.

* What does your pet look like?

A brown-gray Garfield and just as fat T_T. Here’s a pic of her w/Pooky Bear

She also has this droopy belly that makes people think she’s preggers T_T

* How old is your pet?

Iono.. Seven? Eight? O gawd, I never did get her birth certificate. I’ve only had her for a couple of years. She was kind of thrust into my care.

* What is your pet’s favorite hobby?

She likes to sit out on the porch and yap at the birds like a chihuahua. I once had a dream I adopted a baby monkey and it kept yapping like “ahng! ahng! ahng! ahngahngahng!” and I woke up to realize it was Bella barking at the birds outside. She also likes to doze off near mommy (that’s me).

* What’s your pet’s favorite food/flavor?
Chicken and cheese. She LOOOOVES cheese. She also seems to have a thing for Wheat Thins.

* Name one trick you love that your pet does:
She gives great back massages. She’s so fat that when she kneads, she applies a lot of weight on your back. She likes to walk on my back and just sit there and purr.

She also sometimes responds like a dog. I tell her it’s bedtime and she follows me to bed. We also think she might understand the phrase, “on the bed!”.

* Who is your pet drawn to the most in the household?
The balcony. It’s her little paradise. ACTUALLY BEING outside kind of scares her, so this is like the perfect medium for her. When she somehow slips out the door (she’s strictly an indoors cat) she’s always crouching and looking paranoid. It’s hilarious.

* One funny thing you caught your pet do:
Just one? Well, she’s always got this guilty look on her face when I open the bathroom door and I see her w/her front paws in the sink. She looks at me, whines and then runs off. She also gets that look on her face and whines and runs inside when I catch her outside.

* One thing you find most annoying about your pet:
Her problems with intimacy. Granted, we’ve made a LOT of progress in our years together. For over a year, my hands were covered in scars that I thought would never go away. Now, she never scratches and actually loves being around company. I thought I’d go crazy and die of sheer happiness when she started sitting on my lap and just laying in front of me when I was in bed. I wish she were just a bit more comfortable with being near someone, though. She still hates being held.
