Got My Hair Did

From my entry at Asian Beauty Blog written today:

Vot, you deenk you ken hof a piece ov me? Do you reeloz who I om? O, you seely boy, o ho ho. I hov not ze time for leetul boyz… (omg make me stop I don’t even know what I’m doing the lashes are taking over my personality)

The ends of my hair were starting to resemble a pitchfork warehouse. Yes, it was that gross. I hadn’t had my hair trimmed in over six months and even though I had previously asked for highlights that would be subtle enough to let my natural color grow out, my roots were still grossing me out at this point.

In this small town, I managed to find a stylist that I like. I bring her blurry cellphone pictures of Asian hairstyles I find on Dubal Jayu (I don’t have a printer and so I take cellphone pictures of the pictures in the website) and she always comes through. Plus, who the hell charges $25 for a haircut these days???? AND offers a color discount, COMBINED with a student discount??? Where else do you pay $60 for a cut AND color AND really like your hair??

So, I asked for the bangs in this image. It was a bit of a risk b/c that girl in the picture looked like she could look good in a burlap sack and a Wolverine haircut. Still, I wanted to try something new. I had done bangs before, but nothing of this shape. I even told the stylist, Sarah, that I wanted these bangs but I was hesitant b/c I didn’t want the “cliche heavy Asian bangs look” and she reassured me that it would not be so. Haha, I love Sarah, by the way. She recently recovered from cervical cancer, so kudos on a fight well-fought, Sarah! Also, she’s a huge contributor to the local community and she’s just all around awesome.

Here, I’m not wearing any eye or lip makeup. I’m wearing everything else, though. Sorry you had to see that mug there har har! (NO I YAM NOT SORRY YOU LOOKIT MY BLOATED MUG NOW!!! MUA HA HA HA HAAA!! YOU LOOKIT GOOD AND YOU LOOKIT EBRYDAY!!!)

….. 6_6;;;;…….

Anyhooters, I decided to put on longer falsies today.

The XL has shorter wisps between crosses than the XN and XNS do. The XN might have been more dramatic but the XL is longer than the XNS and therefore still a bit more dramatic. I might be a bit hesitant to try on the XN for a while. Or not, since becoming a blogger here has made me feel adventurous, lately. Speaking of adventurous, Alienman got paid, hur hur, and she has a nice long list a-rackin’ up on Cherry Culture dot com. I blame this new form of shopaholicism on you, you, you, you and you.

So, here’s the look for the day:

different rooms and different lightings…. futile attempts to play up the mood and i look like i’m trying too hard, so have a laugh at my expense, girls, we could all use more laughter haha :D Hey, I even did an O-face but I didn’t want to spoil your apetites so *delete*

and gawd… do i look fobby in these last two pictures or what haha
but man, i love how these lashes make my eyes look HUGE and so deep

I tried to take close-ups of my eyes post-makeup but they all kept coming out blurry I don’t know why. This never happened before. I’m really sorry about that, guys

Hello, i am trying to become an actress in korean dramas and i pretend to faint and get sick a lot because of a forbidden love that i cannot deny and my poor but hard-working lover and my wealthy born-into-old-money fiancee are dueling over me as we speak and i just want all of us to get along because i have a pure heart and a child-like innocence that you normally don’t see in women my age… o, chul soo shi!! please do not forget the love we once shared!

but, hey, i had fun :D … perhaps, too much fun D:

*O SHNNAAPPPP I got told not to come into work today, YAYERZ!!!! <--- I NEVER talk like this in real life, but here, I like to pretend I do ;D *takes off work clothes and runs around apartment nekkid Products used: Face: Monistat Soothing Care Chafing Relief Powder-Gel as primer ** By the way, let me tell you here and now that I am LOVING my Monistat Soothing Care Chafing Relief Powder-Gel as a primer. I have spent too much on the fancy-shmancy Laura Merciers and the Dr. Brandts. Eight bucks for something that successfully keeps the sides of my nose and chin dry as a bone?? What’s next? A toilet that cleans itself?? Everyday Minerals in Golden Medium Good Skin liquid concealer Borghese Mineral Shimmer Powder **Came with the brush set from Costco. It’s really easy to apply too much, but it’s fun stuff and I kind of like the little bit of glow it gave. A bit of a pinkish tint, though. Cheeks: NYX Natural on apples of cheeks Revlon Golden Affair Naughty of Spice under cheekbones Lips: Estee Lauder Pure Pops in pink **The only reason I keep wearing these Pure Pops is because they’re all I have left. I want to expand on my collection of lip products but don’t know where to start. Aside from department store brands, what brands do you guys like? I am usually a lip gloss person but I’d like to try some good moist lipsticks if you guys know of any. I’m always interested in your suggestions

Eyes:
NYX Spring Flower on outer corners
NYX Pink Oleander in middle
NYX Cotton Candy to highlight inner corners and browbone
Almay Intense i-color liquid liner to prep for falsies
Missha Dolly Eyes falsies in XL
Diorshow and Imju Fiberwig Mascaras on lower lashes
Rimmel Kohl Eye Pencil in waterline

Please let me know if my pictures are too small. I’ve been keeping all of them at 240 x 320 px mainly because I didn’t want them to be overwhelming. However, if they’re too small for you, I would really like you guys to let me know :D

  1. some doofus!

Your stylist did an excellent job with your bangs, also, I may have to use some images from that hairstyle website you linked for my next haircut (thanks for the resource!).

ALSO, I’m going to try using that monistat chafing stuff as a primer. I’ve had success using the milk of magnesia mask as a primer (bonus – it dries up pimples pretty effectively) but sometimes it’s annoying slathering on that mask every day.

  2. alien man?!

I’ve heard good things about Milk of Magnesia, actually. That was first on the top of my to-buy list, but ended up getting the Monistat b/c Rite Aid had it when I was there. It didn’t occur to me to try the laxative aisle, so I couldn’t find the milk o’mag, ha har.

Thanks for the feedback on the hair! I’ve been using that hair site for years, by the way. Hopefully, it will serve you well, too.
